The National Writers Series is thrilled to welcome Angela Flournoy, National Book Award finalist and author of The Turner House, with her long-awaited new novel, "The Wilderness."
Spanning two decades in the lives of five Black women—Desiree, Danielle, January, Monique, and Nakia—The Wilderness is a powerful, funny, and deeply moving story of friendship, identity, ambition, and chosen family in a rapidly changing America.
Flournoy, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Paris Review, brings extraordinary depth and insight to the complexities of womanhood and the ties that hold us together.
Flournoy will be in conversation with NWS Education Director Audrey Irontree.
