Soldier Field tells the story of four Ireland players and eight of their fans as they make their way to Chicago with history in mind. Ireland are set to play the world champion All Blacks, a side they have not beaten in 28 matches, stretched over 109 years.
The players and fans have all been left reeling by the death of Munster and Ireland legend, Anthony ‘Axel’ Foley, only four weeks before. Faced with a daunting foe and odds stacked against them, the players and fans must come together to pay a fitting tribute to one of their own.
Proceeds from Soldier Field ticket sales will go to Orla’s Wild Ways, a fundraising initiative founded by Anthony Foley’s sister, Orla Foley. To date, Orla’s Wild Ways has raised over €64,000 for three wonderful charities:
• Mid-West Cancer Foundation, supporting cancer patients and their families.
• CRY Ireland, providing free bereavement counseling and cardiac screening for families affected by sudden cardiac death.
• Irish Rugby Charitable Trust, supporting rugby players who have suffered life-changing injuries.
