IN-PERSON WORKSHOP:
Participants will learn the basics of bookbinding and create a blank hardcover journal that they will take home with them. We will go over the book making process from start to finish, including hand sewing paper signatures to create a text block, preparing a hard cover, and then adhering the text block to the cover. We will use decorative paper to cover the books, and a variety of collage materials will be provided to personalize the front even further. All tools and materials will be provided.
ABOUT EMILY
Emily is a self-taught multi-media artist and one of the managers at Plaza Art – Towson. She has enjoyed working with a variety of different mediums over the years but is particularly fond of linoleum printing and oil painting at this time in her life. She loves experimenting with and developing new techniques to channel her creativity and is so excited to share it with you!
