Join us at Dartington Tree Nursery, helping us grow our trees from seed. Learn new skills, meet like-minded people, and get stuck in!
You can help with many things, from tending the beds, potting acorns, getting trees ready for planting or watering the young trees. There's something for everyone. The tasks change with the season from seed processing in the autumn to pricking out seedlings in the spring. There's a polytunnel so we can keep dry when the weather gets too wet. And if you have a family, your children are more than welcome to join us too!
There's a timber framed hut, with a log burner, for getting toasty on those colder days. We also have a new composting loo so you won't get caught short.

You can choose to join us for a whole day, a morning, or an afternoon - whatever suits you.
To book a space, you can either book a ticket via this page, or contact our Tree Nursery Assisstant Holly Stewart on 07939953289 by 3pm the Tuesday before. Please advise Holly of any medical / access / additional needs you may have.
We provide hot drinks, but please bring your own snacks, lunch (if you plan on staying all day) and sun cream if it is sunny. Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

Directions: The A384 from Buckfastleigh and the A385 from Totnes to Plymouth meet at a roundabout in Dartington village. From here take the small road up the hill through the houses and at the top of the hill cross over a mini-roundabout onto Barracks Hill.
On your right are bungalows and a row of garden sheds. Further down on the right, the site gate is set in a high hedge just before houses on the left. You can park by this gate and enter the site. Turn right and walk along the back of the hedge to find our nursery site. The closest postcode is Barracks Hill TQ9 6DQ
