From The Strand to the Sea in beautiful Torquay
Kick off the Literary Festival in true golden-age style! Step into your finest 1920s attire — flapper dresses, feathered fascinators, bowler hats, or the most dashing detective get-up you can muster. From Poirot’s impeccable moustache to Miss Marple’s tweed suit, every sleuth and socialite is welcome!
We’ll set off from the brand-new Agatha Christie Sculpture on The Strand, wander past the famous Christie bust, and promenade along the scenic Agatha Christie Trail to Princess Pier — a flat, leisurely half-mile perfect for soaking up the seaside air.
For those continuing the adventure, the stroll to Torre Abbey for the Festival’s opening day is just over a mile, with charming cafés and restaurants tempting you along the way.

💰 Cost: Free! But please register so we have an idea of numbers.
Slip on your spats, tilt your cloche hat, and join us for the first ever 1920's Agatha Christie Costumed Promenade and what will hopefully become an annual event.
Entry is free, but please get a ticket, so we have an idea of numbers and can steward the event safely.
