A Ceremony of Spirit, Integration & Rebirth
With Phil Whitefeather & Julie Gregory
Saturday 7th March in Torquay.
Before it was a drum, it was life.
It ran beneath the sky.
It breathed the air.
It felt the Earth beneath its hooves.
We do not make drums.
We birth them back into sacred service.
Through prayer, gratitude, and intention, the spirit of the animal is honoured.
The tree that once stood rooted in the soil is remembered.
Earth and animal are reunited.
And through your hands — reborn.
This is Drum Birthing.
A rite of passage.
A remembering.
A returning.
When we gather in ceremony, hide and wood are consciously transformed into a living shamanic healing drum — not an object, but an ally. A keeper of rhythm. A bridge between worlds.
Each drum carries a heartbeat.
Your heartbeat.
And the ancient heartbeat of Mother Earth.
During This Sacred Day You Will:
Birth Your Own Medicine Drum
Choose your drum size (16”, 18”, or 20”) and your hide (horse or other hides available). Through guided ceremony, you will honour the spirit of the animal and tree, awakening your drum as a sacred ally for healing, ceremony, and spiritual connection.
Craft Your Personal Beater:
Create your beater using materials provided, or bring foraged wood and meaningful fabrics to infuse your tool with your own story and intention.
The Path of Integration:
This ceremony is held in a way that honours both ancient earth-based traditions and grounded therapeutic understanding.
Transformation does not need to be dramatic to be profound.
Healing does not need to reject the modern world to honour the old ways.
What to bring:
Food to share
Clothes pegs
Spoon and bowl
Big towl
Cusion
Sacred Object for the alter
