Toronto Building Energy Modellers Networking Event - September 2025

Welcome to the Toronto Building Energy Modellers Networking Event!

We’re excited to share that this month marks a milestone as it’s the first time our event will be sponsored! We’re proud to have , the developer of one of the industry’s leading building simulation software platforms, as our sponsor. We’re equally grateful to , who have generously offered their offices to host this edition of our networking event so we can accommodate more people!

This month's presenter will be Tristan Truyens from IES Ltd, who will present on "Parametric Approaches for Future Climate Resilience".

A few notes on the event:

1. Our sponsor will be providing all food for the event. All of the event registration payment (less EventBrite Fees) will go to the Canadian Wildfire Fund, a charity foundation that supports preparedness, immediate relief, and longer-term recovery for wildfire events within Canada.
2. There will be a short presentation from our sponsor about their products/services (5 minutes) before our technical presentation on a modelling topic.
3. The event is being hosted at DIALOG’s Toronto Studio at 35 John St #500, Toronto, ON M5V 3G. We will send detailed instructions on how to access the room via email to registrants.

Speaker Bio

Tristan Truyens has a wealth of experience in applying building performance simulation to drive deeply sustainable outcomes. With a track record of contributing to the designs of some of Canada’s most energy-efficient buildings, he is passionate about using innovative simulation techniques to optimize building design. Tristan employs an approachable presentation style to simplify the complex concepts of performance simulation and empower evidence-based design decision making.
