Join me in Toronto at the Mirvish Productions Rehearsal Space
for a one-day Deep Puppetry workshop.
It's an immersive workshop exploring embodied, relational, and political transformation through hands-on puppet creation. Build puppets from simple materials and practice animation as deep listening and cultivating tenderness, co-agency, and presence with the emergent, the unruly, and the unknown.
We rehearse tenderness as a radical orientation that:
-disrupts hierarchy and embedded systems of exclusion
-opens us to new forms of solidarity and kinship
-resists purity, urgency, and scarcity narratives
-moves us beyond inherited scripts of domination
-awakens new relational capacities
-builds capacity for staying present in complexity
-challenges the reflex to fix, explain, and resolve
-positions otherness as threshold not threat
No puppetry, performance, or artistic experience needed, only a willingness to be moved. Space is limited.

______________
Deep Puppetry is not about performance in the traditional sense; it is a relational, ritual, and justice-oriented practice. We treat simple and often discarded materials as collaborators, listening to how life wants to move through them and through us. We practice care, co-agency, and non-normative presence in the aesthetic and symbolic field. Read more about Deep Puppetry here: DeepPuppetry.com
