Cooking with Spirit: Stories, Flavours & Traditions of Indigenous Fusion Cuisine with Chef David Wolfman

In this talk, Chef David Wolfman will take the audience on a culinary and cultural journey through the pages of his cookbook (which is September's Cookbook Club Book). Drawing from the traditions of the Xaxli'p First Nation and his decades of professional culinary expertise, David will share stories behind the making of select recipes in the cookbook. He will explore how Indigenous foods connect us to the land, to community, and to sustainable living. Participants will also learn how cooking can be an act of reconciliation and cultural preservation. David will lead a Q&A session at the end.

Chef David Wolfman is a classically trained chef and internationally recognized expert on wild game and traditional Indigenous cuisine. He is a member of the Xaxli'p First Nation in British Columbia.

Saturday September 27, 2-3pm at Malvern Branch, Toronto Public Library
