Pedalling the Parks Cycling Tour

Toronto’s identity cannot be separated from its waterways and harbourfront: Lake Ontario has shaped not only the city but all of us who call it home. Learn about the relationship between our city, its people, and the lake as we enjoy the beautiful park spaces along the Martin Goodman trail. Explore Toronto’s ongoing relationship with its shoreline, told through the many parks that now enrich it. Hop on a bike and enjoy a ride through two centuries of natural history.

This tour was developed and will be led by Steven Kellier. Steven has over a decade of experience in musuems and cultural heritage, with a focus on public programs, musuem education, community engament and special events. He currently serves as the Public Programs Specialist with the Region of Peel Art gallery, musuem and Archives.

Start Point: Little Norway Park (659 Queens Quay W)

Meet at the Bike Share station located at the corner of Queens Quay W and Little Norway Crescent.

Our staff and volunteers will be at the tour's starting location 30 minutes prior to each tour. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the tour to allow time for check in. Feel free to call us at (647) 542-3450 if you are having trouble finding the start location.

End Point: Tommy Thompson Park (1 Leslie St)

Length of Tour: Approximately 2 hours.

Distance and Terrain: This tour covers approximately 12 kilometres in distance. We will be riding predominantly on trails and encountering some hills.

Please provide your own bicycle, helmet, and come dressed for a moderately strenuous bike ride. There will be frequent breaks, however we ask participants to bring their own water and snacks.

This tour uses a loudspeaker in order to hear the tour leader.

Ticket Price and Registration: This tour is provided for $8.00/person. The total cost is $9.85 (includes a $1.85 transaction fee). Please note that space is limited on our tours. You may not be able to join a tour group if you have not registered ahead of time.
