In honour of Oscar Peterson’s Centennial, chanteuse Geneviève “Gigi” Marentette and pianist Michael Shand invite you to discover a rarely heard side of Oscar in an intimate salon-style setting, with a gorgeous grand piano in the heart of Kensington Market.
Everyone knows Oscar as one of the world’s greatest jazz pianists — but not many realize he also left us a beautiful body of vocal recordings.
Created in 2017, the OP Sung program highlights Oscar’s vocal albums — Romance: The Vocal Styling of Oscar Peterson, Soft Sands, Fiorello — plus some unreleased OP compositions.
Come celebrate Oscar Peterson, sung — a side of his genius that deserves to be heard.
