Make for the Don: Commemorative Lantern Workshop with Red Pepper Spectacle

This October, community will gather for hands-on workshops led by . Together, we’ll craft bamboo-and-paper lanterns with imagery commemorating the Salmon spawning season and Akinomaagewin—the teaching that “the earth is our teacher.”

These lanterns will carry stories, light, and community spirit into the Don River Awakens Puppet Procession. The workshop is about making together with neighbors, families, and friends shaping lanterns that will illuminate the river’s edge during The Don River Awakens: Community Costume and Puppet Procession.
