About the workshop
As part of the David Suzuki Foundation's RewildingTO art show at Gallery1065, join Sarah Loretta Schuster (Zhaawashkwaa-Giizhigong-Biish-Kwe) from Miskwaadesi Studio for a special evening workshop introducing the art of beadwork.
This hands-on session will cover three core techniques for creating a floral pattern:
Participants will learn in a supportive environment rooted in Indigenous cultural practices. All materials will be provided.
Miskwaadesi Studio offers Indigenous-led community workshops that blend traditional hand drumming, cultural teachings, and storytelling through craft. Their inclusive programs welcome everyone to participate, fostering meaningful and respectful connections with Indigenous culture, the land, and one another. RewildingTO Art Show
This workshop is presented in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation and Rewilding Magazine as part of the RewildingTO exhibition, running September 18 – October 5, 2025 at Gallery 1065.
The show and workshops are in support of the, a national award that celebrates Canadian artists whose work reimagines our relationship with nature, culture and community. The second round of the prize launches on September 18, inviting artists from across the country to apply and become part of a growing collective of creators who are helping to reconnect people with the natural world.
