About this Event

🎨 Creative Facilitation Series: Safe Spaces & CPR Training for Artists

🧰 Workshop Description:

Join us for a dynamic and essential session designed for artists working with immigrant, newcomer, and refugee communities. This full-day workshop integrates two vital components:

❤️ Part 1: CPR Training (1-Year Certification)

Facilitated by Heavencanwait

Because care is creative.

Receive official CPR training and a 1-year certificate as part of your facilitation toolkit. Learn how to respond to medical emergencies and hold space for physical well-being in community and artistic settings.

✨ Part 2: Safe Spaces in Community Arts

Facilitated by Paola Gomez (MUSE Arts)

Explore what it means to create emotionally, physically, and professionally safe spaces while working in community-based arts. This session is grounded in anti-oppressive practices, and tailored to support musicians, facilitators, and artists who collaborate in complex environments.

You'll gain tools to:

  • Recognize power dynamics and prevent harm
  • Set clear expectations in shared creative spaces
  • Practice consent culture and community accountability
  • Foster inclusive, trauma-informed, and equitable environments

🎯 Who Should Attend:

Artists, musicians, facilitators, and cultural workers

Individuals leading workshops, collaborations, or creative programs with refugee, newcomer, or immigrant communities

Anyone seeking to deepen their practice through safety, care, and preparedness
