Carbon monoxide (CO) has bedeviled humanity since the invention of fire. It is a silent, odorless, non irritating toxic gas produced by the incomplete combustion of wood, gasoline, charcoal, coal, natural gas, etc. It causes death and injury by asphyxiation. CO has had a greater impact on our history than commonly known and has cased the death of Sylvia Plath, 2 Roman emperors, and Cleopatra among others. The current dangers of CO such as in tents, and while on vacations will be discussed. The audience will gain knowledge of the history of CO and how to prevent CO poisoning.This program is intended for adults.
