About this Event

Artificial intelligence is generating profound insights into brain health and holds the potential to improve brain health beyond what was once thought possible. Experts in research and technology will showcase how the Ontario Brain Institute’s Centre for Analytics and its partners are harnessing deep learning and AI for advancements in neuroscience.



Speakers:

Dr. Ehsan Amjadian, Ophthalmo Corp., University of Waterloo

Dr. Amjadian is CEO of Ophthalmo Corp. and a faculty member in the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. At Ophthalmo he is looking at new ways to detect optic nerve damage. In addition, he has filed multiple patents in the areas of generative & agentic AI, data protection, finance & climate, and computer vision applications to satellite images.

Dr. Clement Ma, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, University of Toronto

Dr. Ma’s research focuses on developing and applying innovative statistical methods to improve the accuracy and efficiency of clinical trials. He designs new approaches for mental health studies that aim to produce reliable results while minimizing trial length and demands on participants.

Dr. Nardin Samuel, Cove Neurosciences, University of Toronto

Dr. Samuel is the CEO and Co-Founder of Cove Neurosciences, a company developing software for advanced brain data analysis in psychiatry and neurology. She is also a resident physician and post-doctoral research scientist at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Atefeh (Ati) Zarabadi, AiimSense

Dr. Zarabadi is the CEO of AiimSense, where she leads efforts to transform stroke care through the development of point-of-care imaging technology for brain monitoring and early diagnosis. She holds a doctoral degree in science from the University of Waterloo and brings over a decade of experience in the life sciences industry.


Moderator: Dr. Francis Jeanson, Head of the Ontario Brain Institute’s Centre for Analytics, who leverages his expertise at the intersection of cognitive science and artificial intelligence to drive innovation and impact in healthcare.
