About this Event

Registration HB FIRST Robotics Program!To sign up, simply complete one registration form. After that, you'll be able to choose which programs you'd like your child to participate in by selecting the appropriate tickets.

Science Club: Tuesdays, 6:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m., January 20 to February 24, 2026 (6-14 years old) Snow make up date March 3rd (only if necessary)

This program is geared towards to develop habits of exploration and to encourage individuals in group activities. There are opportunities to stimulate active participation and initiative among students in the learning process. Participants work through science-based experiments alongside our instructors.

Junior Robotics: Wednesdays, 6:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m., January 21 to February 25, 2026(6-9 years old) Snow make up date March 4th (only if necessary)

Designed for learning, engineered for fun! Using the LEGO’s SPIKE Essential kits to encourage hands-on play and learning to make creative problem-solving concrete and tangible, by providing learners with the tools to imagine and invent the future. LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential, part of the LEGO® Learning System, is the cross-curricular STEAM solution for elementary education. It engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development. This system is an intuitive, inclusive, and highly adaptable hands-on learning system.

Virtual Coding 101 (Zoom) Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., January 22 to February 26, 2026. (8-14 years old. Flexible if interested)

Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world. The primary focus of the Coding program is to address the development of functioning skills (e.g. problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, focusing attention and remembering instructions). As participants create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Group participants will create an account with Scratch and can share their creations with family and friends. Through our coding projects, participants will learn to improve their planning and problem-solving skills.

Intermediate Robotics: Sundays, 10:00 am- 12:00 pm, January 18 to March 1, 2026. (10-14 years old). (NO CLASS February 15, 2026) Snow make up date March 8th (only if necessary)

Using the LEGO Spike Prime kits, which are part of the LEGO® Learning System, this program is designed for learning, engineered for fun. It includes bright colors, friendly shapes, and a simple coding environment to get learners excited about robotics. As a component of the LEGO® Learning System, as a cross-curricular STEAM solution for elementary education. It engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development. This system is an intuitive, inclusive, and highly adaptable hands-on learning system.

Eligibility:

  • Participants must be able to engage safely and effectively in a structured group setting. They should be motivated to actively participate in the robotics program and work towards their goals throughout the session.
  • Participants must be within the designated age range for the program or be turning that age during the program.
  • If a child requires 1:1 support to participate safely or successfully, it is the caregiver's responsibility to arrange for this support prior to the participant's spot being confirmed. Please note that 1:1 support cannot be provided by a direct family member.

Cancellation Policy:

Participants will be charged the full program fee if they cancel less than two weeks before the program start date.

What Happens After Registration?

  • Register by purchasing your ticket and completing the order form. You will receive a confirmation and receipt via email, or a phone call if additional information is needed.
  • Payments will be processed with your registration information.
  • To secure participation, an intake interview with our Recreational Therapeutic Specialist is required before the program starts. The therapist will contact you directly to schedule this appointment.
