It’s a shame to see someone’s hard work go to waste. If a farmer plants and tends a field of crops but isn’t able to gather the harvest for some reason it seems like all that hard work has gone to waste.
Jesus sees you and me and all people as precious souls. Jesus has done all the hard work to save us by his perfect life of obedience, his sacrificial death on the cross, and triumphant resurrection. Jesus wants you , me, and all people to be gathered to be with him in heaven.
People need to be baptized and to hear the Word of God to be brought to faith. The workers who go out to proclaim God’s Word have always been few compared to the multitudes os souls for whom our Savior died. Pray that the Lord will bless his church with more and more people to proclaim God’s Word so that the Holy Spirit continues to gather more precious souls for our Savior’s harvest!
