About the event

Centering Native Voices: DoPiKa Artist Panel
Join three artists in the exhibition "DoPiKa: Reinstate" for a conversation about representing Native perspectives in narratives about Kansas. Norman Akers (Osage), Sydney Pursel (Iowa Tribe of Kansas & Nebraska), and Mona Cliff (Aaniiih/Nakota/Eastern European) will discuss how their communal identities, homes, and personal experiences shape their art. Their conversation will be moderated by Lisa LaRue-Baker (Cherokee), co-curator of the exhibition.
