A clothing swap, also known as a clothing exchange or swap party, is an event or gathering where people come together to exchange clothing items they no longer want or need with others. The primary purpose of a clothing swap is to refresh one's wardrobe, find new-to-you fashion items, and reduce waste by reusing clothing.

Here's how a typical swap works:
* Participants bring items they no longer wear or need but are still in good condition to the event.
* The clothing items are usually organized by type (e.g., shirts, dresses, pants) and sometimes by size to make it easier for participants to browse.
* Participants can then browse the items brought by others and select items they like. There's usually a limit on the number of items each person can take to ensure fairness.
* Any unclaimed clothing items at the end of the swap may be donated to charity or otherwise responsibly disposed of.
Swaps are not only an eco-friendly way to update one's wardrobe and bookshelf but also promote sustainability by reducing the need for new clothing production and minimizing waste.
