HIKING AT BEAR MOUNTAIN LOOP

Head out on this 3.8-mile loop trail near Bear Mountain, New York. Generally considered a challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through November. Although relatively short, this great hike features some scrambling up rock slabs as the trail climbs to the Perkins Memorial Tower. Located near Hessian Lake in the Hudson Valley, this loop trail is a great option for a day trip from New York City. Be sure to arrive early as Bear Mountain State Park is a popular destination for hikers and runners on weekends.

Depart Date: Shown above. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier. Van will depart sharply on time with or without you.

Depart 8:00 AM from Queens (NEW): (Across street from Asian Jewels) 133-30 39th Ave, Flushing, NY 11354 (Map). Subway lines (Main St-Flushing): 7. (1 block from previous spot)

Depart 8:40 AM from NYC: (ViVi Bubble Tea) Corner of 43rd St and 9th Ave New York, NY 10036 (Map) Subway lines (Times Sq-42 St): A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, S.

Depart 8:50 AM from NJ (NEW): Lincoln Harbor Station, QX6G+H9 Weehawken Township, NJ 07086 (Map) near Lincoln Tunnel. Take Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) (System Map).

Return Date/Time: Depart around 3:00 PM, and expect to arrive at NJ 4:40 PM, midtown NYC 5:00PM & Queens at 6:00 PM

TENTATIVE PLAN (Plan may vary depending on weather among other factors)

Expect to arrive around 10:15 AM at the park.

• Who Should Come: Almost anyone can come unless you haven't hiked at all before. This hike is rated moderate with 3.4 miles and 1200 feet elevation gain.

• What To Wear/Bring: Hat, sunblock scream, hiking shoes or boots, clothes to change, water bottles & cash or credit card.

• What for Lunch: We can go to a nearby restaurant for lunch after the hike, before heading back to NYC.

COST

Early birds: $39 for first 7 spots or 13 days in advance whichever comes first. Regular: $49 afterward.

Trip includes: Round trip transportation from NYC area, guided hiking, parking fee, & tolls.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in NY Ski & Snowboard Club events and activities, the event participant acknowledges, and agrees that:
