Full Moon Night Hike

Experience Treehaven's trails by the light of the full moon! This naturalist-led hike will take you on a sensory adventure as you observe the wonders of the moonlit forest. Learn about nocturnal animals and the enhanced senses that help them traverse the darkness, and put your own nighttime senses to the test through some hands-on activities that explore sight, sound, smell, and touch. If we're lucky, we might even see or hear wildlife out and about!

Meet at the main entrance (double doors with Treehaven sign). Dress for the weather, it may be chilly! Layers, hats, gloves, and good hiking shoes recommended. Flashlights/headlamps welcome, but hike leader may request lights be turned off at various times to suit activities. Hike will cover about 1 mile, with stops along the way. Terrain will be mostly even and wide as we follow a portion of the Big Pine Loop, but a few light to moderate inclines and bridges will be encountered. This event is suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
