Kingcombe Visitor Centre
Kingcombe, Toller Porcorum, United Kingdom
There are roughly 35 native species of tree and shrub in the United Kingdom and this course aims to make participants familiar with their identification during the winter months.
At first sight many trees can look similar in winter, but upon closer inspection, the variety and beauty of twigs, bark and buds becomes clear to see.
This course will be divided into two sections, with an outdoor element exploring the countryside around Kingcombe to look at identifying all the trees and shrubs we can find, and this will be followed by a classroom session to look at identifying a full set of native twigs.
