Preservation Assessment Workshop with Heritage Ohio

Join the Old West End Association and Heritage Ohio on Monday Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Kent Branch Library for "𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 - 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀" presented by nationally-acclaimed preservationist Prof. Emeritus, David R. Mertz. This event is FREE, open to the public, but seating will be limited.

Prof. Mertz, former director of Belmont College’s renowned Building Preservation/Restoration program, will speak on building pathology and common issues that plague old and historic buildings. From the basics of being a good steward and planning your maintenance routine, to spotting water infiltration and masonry issues, Mertz will instruct building owners on carefully evaluating little problems now before they have the chance to become big problems in the future.
