Discover the vibrant practice of Natalie Lanese, TMA's latest glass artist-in-residence, during this free artist talk. Hear firsthand about her inspiration, process, and experience at the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Studios.
The Sara Jane DeHoff Guest Artist Pavilion Project (GAPP) gives artists who work in any medium a unique opportunity to explore glass art making in our state of the art studio and a chance to work with our experienced studio team.
Toledo Museum of Art welcomes Natalie Lanese as the GAPP artist in August, 2025. Lanese is an artist celebrated for transforming spaces with her bold, graphic sensibility. Known for large-scale murals, immersive installations, and playful, geometric motifs, her work draws inspiration from pop culture, collage, and the handmade quality of mid-century design.
During her time in the museum’s Glass Studios, Lanese explores the possibilities of glassmaking as she expands her practice in new directions. Visitors can experience her creative process up close, watch her work alongside skilled glassmakers, and discover how she brings her signature patterns and vibrant color palette to life through this dynamic medium.
GAPP connects artists, audiences, and the art of glass through direct engagement and open studio time. Lanese’s residency invites the community to see how ideas take shape in real time — bridging contemporary art, craft, and design within one of the country’s premier glass programs.
