RULES
1. At the end of the entire competition, the pilot who places first in each class as well as one other pilot from each class picked at random wins an entry to the fly off round.
2. The exceptions to the above are where a class has a single competitor there will be no entry for that class, where there are two or three competitors only the winner of the class wins an entry into the fly off round.
2.A. Where a class has a single competitor, the competitor may elect to fly up in the next class, in accordance with APA rules. In this case he or she will then be treated as a normal competitor in the class they are flying in.
3. The first four rounds for each competitor are assessed with the best 3 raw score flights average to provide a Base Line score. The pilot must have completed at least 3 flights to be eligible, if they have not completed at least three flights then their entry is eliminated.
4. If the completion is three rounds then the best two raw scores count. If the competition is less than two rounds the fly off round will not proceed.
5. Each pilot then flies a single schedule in front of all the judges that have judged that specific class during the competition.
6. Where there are more than 5 judges, the highest and lowest scoring judges scores are eliminated. All remaining judges scores are averaged to give the Fly Off Round score.
7. The pilot who has the greatest percentage improvement between the Base Line score and the Fly Off Round score is the winner of the event.
8. In the event of a tie then then all the first place competitors would be considered the winner of the event and the prize money will be split.
9. Results will be audited by President of the Tin Can Bay Institute of Sport, the Contest director and one other pilot or judge who was not part of the fly off.
10. Results will be published.
11. In the case of disputed results, the Contest Director's decision will be final.
The club will cater for food and drinks for the event, and they also have showers for anyone that wants to camp at the field.
Camping fees are $10 per night which includes hot showers and 240v power caravan sites.
