It happens on Wednesday evenings, starting around 6.00 PM and running into the evening.
We have the usual local Musicians performing, with Pete on bass, Sam on Keys, Mike on guitar, and various people who sit on the drums, most recently Kev and Tony, who recently moved to the area.
The night runs on donations that provide tea, coffee, and light refreshments during the evening. Thanks to Karen H, for her efforts here. A fridge is available if you wish to bring your own, so come and enjoy the night.
There is no judging on the night, so whether you can sing, play an instrument, or just love music, you are welcome at the Cooloola Coast music night. We have folders with Lyrics, and there are also mics and a PA system. You can do solo and bring your songs or play with the band. Some people bring instruments and play along from the back of the hall for enjoyment. Musically speaking, it's whatever suits an individual best
There is an opportunity to learn about music, performance, guitar and keyboard, as well as PA setup and sound mixing.
The night starts with around 6 songs, where everyone sings along and gets in the mood for a musical night. Then we have a break and discuss anything that needs to be arranged for the night depending on who comes; it's always great to see new faces. It’s a bit like karaoke with live music and a set list of classic songs, lyrics & chords provided, and many voices singing; you are not alone.
Music is at the heart of the club, which keeps it moving steadily along into the year. The songs we play are from artists like The Beatles, Bee Gee’s, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Robbie Williams, Pink Floyd, Dragon and many others. All songs are well known, and most have hit number one in the past.
During the evening breaks, there are light refreshments and general conversation. Its also a time for solo performances if anyone would like. People sharing a common interest in music and good times are had by all.
