Known for her powerful performances with Ayreon, Stream of Passion, and MaYaN, singer-songwriter Marcela Bovio returns to the Little Devil stage with her latest project Harmonies Unveiled — an acoustic, harmony-rich live show that reimagines her solo work for piano and four voices. Joined by Erik van Ittersum (Kingfisher Sky) on piano, and the voices of Nina Grimm (After Taste), Micky Huijsmans (Sowulo) and Marjan Welman (Ayreon, Autumn, Vetrar Draugurinn), Marcela promises a truly magical evening, where complex, haunting vocal harmonies take center stage. Marcela Bovio is a singer-songwriter and vocal coach whose career bridges the worlds of symphonic metal, chamber music, and art song. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, and now based in the Netherlands, she rose to international recognition as the lead singer of Stream of Passion, a progressive/symphonic metal band co-founded with Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon).
Marcela’s work spans an extraordinary emotional and stylistic range, from the lush orchestrations of Ayreon and MaYaN to the stark vulnerability of her solo releases. Her albums Unprecedented (2016) and Through Your Eyes (2018) introduced a more intimate musical language, with themes of resilience, introspection, and human connection.
Her upcoming EP, Harmonies Unveiled (2025), continues this path, reimagining five previously released songs and introducing one brand-new piece — all arranged for piano and four female voices. The project celebrates the transformative beauty of shared singing, drawing inspiration from both scientific research and ancient ritual.
