We will meet at the Broad River Campground between 9:00-9:30 am for the float and the plant walk (which will be taking place simultaneously). Ellen Forbus will be leading the plant walk. The Float is normally finished before 3:00.

This annual spring float and plant walk is a fundraiser for BRWA. Funds raised help us continue our water quality monitoring program, support public education, and help us to further conservation initiatives in the Broad River Watershed.
There is a 25-person limit for the float, so please RSVP for reservations:

Guided Hike to the Shoals: With Ellen Forbus
First plant walk at 10 am, Second plant walk at 1 pm
For those who want to see the shoal lilies but don’t want to paddle, we are planning a drive to a site close to the shoals. An approximately 1/4 mile walking trail recently installed by BRWA volunteers gets you to a site along the river where the lilies are 20 feet from the bank. In low-water years, you can wade out to see them. The north-facing slope along this side of the river also has a number of interesting native species of flowering plants and lichen-covered boulders that we can examine.
RAIN DATE: If we get rained out on the 17th, we'll move the float to May 24.
Payments can be made via PayPal at www.brwa.org or bring cash on the day of the float/walk. We also will have a Venmo QR code available.
