Oregon Consumer Justice invites you to join us on Friday, May 9, 2025, in Tigard, for a day of community and shared learning focused on trauma-informed law and well-being practices to culminate .
Burnout and attrition present real threats to the health of legal professionals and consumer advocates, impacting our collective ability to build a more fair and equitable Oregon. This event will discuss why broadening access to justice calls on our ability to center people—those facing systemic harm and those fighting on their behalf.
OCJ is thrilled to address these topics with two impactful speakers who will offer actionable strategies to support you, your clients, and our shared work in advancing consumer justice in Oregon. Visiting from Vancouver, BC, Myrna McCallum is an award-winning podcaster (check out: The Trauma-Informed Lawyer), editor, and pioneer of trauma-informed lawyering. David Rosen is the founder and owner of the boutique personal injury law firm High Desert Law, the past president of the Oregon Law Foundation, and a 500-hour RYT yoga instructor joining us from Bend, Oregon.
This free event will offer 4.5 continuing legal education (CLE) credits (3 Access to Justice and 1.5 Mental Health/Substance Use).
Info: Myrna McCallum is a true change-maker, award-winning podcaster, and leading champion of trauma-informed lawyering. She hosts “The Trauma-Informed Lawyer" Podcast and acts as a subject matter expert on the psychological and social impacts of trauma within our justice systems and the benefits of integrating emotional intelligence into leadership practices. Myrna has co-edited two publications: Canadian Law, Indigenous Laws and Critical Perspectives (CanLII) and Trauma-Informed Law: a Primer for Lawyer Resilience and Healing (ABA).
Info: Enjoy a catered lunch and the opportunity to connect with fellow attendees.
Info: David Rosen is the 2024 President of the Oregon State Bar. David resides in Bend, Oregon and is the founder and owner of High Desert Law, a boutique personal injury law firm. Outside of lawyering, David is a 500-hour RYT yoga instructor. You can currently find David teaching Monday nights at Groove Yoga.
