Make It Okay! with Compeer Johnson County

Make It OK is a community campaign designed to reduce the stigma around mental illness by encouraging honest conversations and building understanding.

Did you know that 1 in 5 people are diagnosed with a mental illness each year, while 1 in 10 are diagnosed with diabetes? Yet, the way we talk about these two health issues is often very different. Mental illness is common—but too often, it's misunderstood or kept in the shadows.

This 60-minute presentation will introduce you to the Make It OK campaign and show you how it helps break down stigma through simple, meaningful conversations. You'll leave with helpful tools, key messages, and resources that you can use to support others and create a more open, understanding community. By the end, you'll feel more confident talking about mental health and encouraging those who need care to seek it without shame.
