Dock Diving In Tidioute
When: Aug 12 to 18 (The ending date may be extended based on demand).
Where: The Pennsylvania State Fishing Tournament grounds in Tidioute Pa. (be sure to mark your calendar for the 2025 Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Sept 26 - 28). Check out the facebook page for more details.
Dogs of all breeds 6 months or older are welcome. Puppies under 6 months may schedule Try It time to use the pool ramp to learn to swim or to build confidence only (no jumping off the dock).
15 minute Try It’s will be offered for $15 during the time blocks listed below. Preregistration isn’t required but would be appreciated. Time slots for Try It’s will be offered on a first come first serve basis. Don’t worry you won’t be on the dock all alone. An experienced handler will be with you to guide you and your dog.
30 minute private sessions with an instructor will be available for a fee and must be scheduled in advance.
Time blocks are 2-4, 4-6, 6-8 during the week and 9-11, 2-4, 6-8 with demonstrations from 11-1 and 4-6 Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th. Our schedule is flexible and we will do anything we can to make sure your dog gets a time slot when you want it.
Only toys that float (including frisbees) can be used. Nothing alive or that has ever been alive can be used. No E- collars on the dock and the dog has to enter the water on its own initiative. Prong type collars can be worn to the dock but must be removed before the dog enters the water.
This is an informal fun event and intended to give you a chance to see if your dog will jump off the dock or if you have the next national champion. It’s a great spectator sport too so bring a lawn chair and enjoy the show.
The dock and pool is being provided by “Dawg Gone It” in Seville Ohio. All proceeds will go for travel expenses, maintenance and upkeep of the pool. Checkout the Dawg Gone It Facebook page. They do a lot more than just dock diving.
The Tidioute Area Fire Department is helping to provide water for the pool so please keep their fund raisers in mind.
