"Hello all.
I have started this event page for those of the far north who plan on attending this year's Brisbane event (Helsrik).
I have attended this event a few times and would like to give you as much information as I can on how to get there and what to expect.
At the moment return flight from Cairns and to Brisbane are about 300$. And to & from Townsville are between 300$ and 400$ return.
Car hire will be between 300$ & 500$ depending on the size of the car you wish to hire. As they are 5-seaters, I recommend hiring as a group to save money.
The event dates are 03/07/25 till 08/07/25.
The first day is an out-of-character check-in day and is normally after 12 pm till 6 pm. If you are aware that you might be arriving after 6 pm, you just need to let an official know, which will most likely be me for the far north chapters.
And the last day is an out-of-character check-out day.
With the 4th till the 7th being the in-character days.
The address is Victory Village at Riverbend.
The drive is about a 2 and a half hours from the airport.
You can also drive from Cairns or Townsville,
Cairns is a 16-hour drive, and Townsville is a 12 and a half hour drive.
You can even carpool to share the cost. One of the reasons I've started this event page is to help people coordinate together to either fly together or drive together to make it a little bit easier.
What to expect.
The event will be 4 days and 3 nights of in-character larping, set at Victory Village's medieval fantasy village with a real tavern with drinks normally sold at cost price.
People from all the Australian chapters come to this event, so you will get to meet all kinds of amazing people.
There will be lots of amazing adventures and quests set around Helsrik lore. Last year, they had a mine that was an escape room crossed with a scare maze, with strange creatures in them that can 💀 you by touch.
They have a town hall, a Church of Sigma, a cemetery, a jail cell, and so much more.
The story behind the lore is yet to be announced but will keep this event page updated the moment I know what more is to come.
There is an in-character and out-of-character camping spots
There are communal showers and porta-potties on site.
What to bring.
(If camping out of character.)
A tent with a sleeping bag or mattress.
A blanket, it will be cold to us.
Spare toilet paper, toothbrush, and soap.
Food and plating of water.
In-character clothes, enough for 4 days.
(In-character)
A bell/glamping tent or reenactment tent.
