It’s time to weigh anchor and set sail for the third annual Great Lighthouse Rescue!
On Wednesday, June 18th, with the support of the Royal Canadian Navy and the gallant sailors of the HMCS Griffon, we’ll be sending castaways out to the Thunder Bay Main Lighthouse where they’ll be stranded until they’ve reached their fundraising goal and rescued and safely returned to land – along with a few high-speed turns and evasive maneuvers as they speed across the harbour!
This year, we’ve made a few exciting changes to make the event even more engaging. Notably, we are inviting the local business community to join in as castaways, echoing the spirit of the classic billboard rescue from years past. Additionally, we will be using the Navy Boatshed as our operations base, which will allow for even more participants. Food and drinks will be provided on-site, thanks to The Dew Drop Inn’s “Have BBQ will Travel” and Sleeping Giant Brewing Company.
Are You Ready to Be Rescued? The Great Lighthouse Rescue is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a call to action. By participating, you’re not just raising money; you’re helping to rescue lives in our community. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of something truly special!
