Preserve beautiful leaves in glass! 'Fossil vitra' is used to describe the imprint of an item left behind in the glass fusing process.
In this workshop we will discuss the various techniques and materials used in fossil vitra. You will have the opportunity to try each technique in the creation of an 8" x 8" display piece (either 4" x 4" coasters or one large piece). Use our leaves or bring in your own - the more dry the better!
Want to make a plate instead? For an additional $5.00 we can fire it one more time to turn it into a plate.
All tools, materials, and equipment will be supplied.
For safety reasons, long pants and closed toe shoes must be worn. Please be aware that grinders will be used in this class, making noise that some participants find uncomfortable. Limited noise protection will be available, and participants are encouraged to bring their own protection for maximum comfort.
After the workshop the glass will be kiln-fired. You will be able to pick up your finished artwork at the Canvas & Clay storefront.
