AccessAbility Week 2025 Map Mission with ILRC

Did you know that many people with disabilities still face major barriers just trying to go out for a meal or run errands?

As part of National AccessAbility Week, we’re once again hitting the streets of Thunder Bay to highlight the need for accessibility and inclusion in our city. It’s time for local businesses to prioritize accessibility and for everyone in our community to have clear, honest information about what spaces are accessible and what barriers still exist.

Join us on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, to map the accessibility of businesses in Fort William using the AccessNow App!
📍 Meet at: Independent Living Resource Centre (212 Miles Street East)
🕐 Time: 1:00 PM EST

We'll kick things off at the Centre with a quick overview, then head out to visit and map businesses together. No experience needed—just bring your phone and your curiosity!

At 3:00 PM, we’ll wrap up with a pizza party back at the Centre to celebrate your efforts.

Come make Thunder Bay more accessible, one map marker at a time!
