On Thursday, May 29 at 6:30 pm, the Border Troubadours theatre troupe will present a live performance featuring three original one-act plays created by Director, Cindy Pesek, to support the Three Lakes Center for the Arts.
The talented and energetic cast will perform the following one-act plays for the community’s enjoyment with musical numbers including a few jazz standards and favorite rock ‘n’ roll tunes:
“House of Cards”, feature Jimmy and Deedee who built a house of cards. Negativity and bad attitudes may cause their world to come crashing down. Can their kids, James and Brenda, escape? Jax at Dizzy Gillespie‘s Record Center and Papa Pat may save the day. Or not.
“Beauty School Blues”, meet the wannabe cosmetologists at Mr. Roberts School of Beauty and the brave and crazy clients. It’s all up for grabs as students learn cuts, color, and perm wraps. Is Mary having a heart attack? What is a pocket curl? Did you say lice? Never a dull moment and, yep, it’s all true.
“Sam’s Diner”, Sam will never be a rich man, but maybe his wealth can be measured in running an honest business or will true love ultimately make him rich? It is filled with sweet and funny characters who you will enjoy cheering on. They make this a charmingly good story.

The troupe’s mission includes fundraising activities to support a variety of charities. This upcoming Border Troubadour performance will be the fourth benefit since 2022 directly supporting the Three Lakes Center for the Arts.
Border Troubadours is a volunteer-based theatre troupe which celebrates the arts, connects people, and supports the community by offering free access to local theatrical productions.
