The Location
Built for the Kirkpatrick family, who are famously linked to the murder of Red Comyn by Robert the Bruce in 1306, the oldest part of Closeburn Castle is believed to date back to the late 14th century. It remained in the hands of the Kirkpatrick family until the 18th century when it was sold to other private owners. Throughout its history, the castle has seen various renovations and restorations to adapt to changing times and requirements. The castle is now once again owned by the Kirkpatrick family.
Paranormal Activity
The castle is reputedly haunted by a mysterious Lady in Black, along with the spirit of a man and another woman, possibly former residents or staff at the property. Reported activity includes sightings of the phantoms, disembodied footsteps and voices, along with various environmental anomalies including sudden cold spots. A death omen is said to have hung over the castle for centuries, foretelling the death of the head of the family.
Join Ryan O’Neill and Greg Stewart, along with the team of experienced investigators, for an evening of exploration as they seek deeper insights into the numerous energies allegedly present in the castle halls and rooms.
Psychic Ghost Walk
The walk round will consist of a tour of the location with one of our trusted Psychic Mediums, Lee Dunn or Louise Walker. The aim is to provide background details about the location and allow our guests to familiarise themselves with the areas and any associated energies, while our medium will channel any information from the spirit realm and give information on any spiritual presences.
Vigils & Experiments
The event will include various vigils and experiments which everyone will have the opportunity to participate in. These will include filmed vigils, trigger object experiments, EVP experiments, use of a variety of ghost hunting gadgets and much more. There will also be free roam time after the structured sessions during which you can become the investigator and carry out your own mini-vigil, accompanied by one of our team members.
Review Of Findings & Experiences
All findings will be analysed throughout the evening and there will be a discussion at the end of the investigation.
