Create your own 6" dreamcatcher with our host/instructor Brittany McIvor. Learn to wrap the ring, weave the web, and decorate with beads, feathers, and a suncatcher crystal.
Join Skills Shop North @ 57 Hayes Rd, Bay 8, R8N 1M3, Thompson, MB. for a creative, hands-on workshop where you’ll make your own 6-inch dreamcatcher from start to finish. In this session, participants will learn how to wrap a metal ring with suede lace, weave the webbing, and decorate their dreamcatcher with wooden beads and feathers.
Dreamcatchers have long been part of Indigenous traditions and carry teachings about protection, dreams, and balance. In this workshop, participants will learn about the craft and cultural context while creating their own, Indigenous-led space. During this workshop, we will gather in a respectful and welcoming space to learn about the craft while creating something beautiful and personal.
As a special touch, each participant will also have a 0.8" suncatcher crystal available to incorporate into their dreamcatcher. You can choose to place it in the center of the web or hang it below the dreamcatcher alongside the feathers to catch and reflect light.
Whether you’re brand new to crafting or already enjoy working with your hands, this beginner-friendly workshop will guide you through each step of the process.
