Jolly’s Lookout, D'Aguilar National Park – Birds Queensland Outing

We’ll explore the Thylogale track at Jolly’s Lookout. It is in the southern section of D’Aguilar National Park, approximately 30 km from Brisbane.

We will meet 7:30 am at the lookout car park and then walk down hill to the lower car park where the Thylogale Track begins. The track is 4 km one way to Boombana on a grade 3 walking track. The beginning of the track is rainforest with strangler figs, hoop pines and palms. Look for Wompoo Fruit-Doves, Catbirds, and Bowerbirds. The scenery changes into wet sclerophyll forest with Brush Box, Casuarinas and Sydney Blue Gums. Arriving at Boombana we will also walk the Pitta Circuit (1 km circuit), followed by morning tea.
