BAAD! Mini Ball 2025: It's Giving Political Awareness!

Kiki with us at BAAD!'s 6th annual Mini Ball! Join our iconic judges Egyptt LaBeija, Felix Milan, Junior LaBeija & La Dutchess Wong as fierce competitors battle it out across 9 categories for cash prizes. To claim victory, winners must impress the judges and showcase their knowledge of ballroom history. If they stumble, the first runner-up will have the chance to snatch the prize from their hands!

Doors open at 5PM. Join us at 7PM for a special panel conversation with our judges on the impact of transwomen in the ballroom scene. Main event starts at 8PM sharp!

Categories:

1. Commentator vs. Commentator – Word on the street is you got bars now. We throw words at you, and you gotta battle back—quick, sharp, and savage. Step up or step out.

2. Trans Man Realness – We hitting up City Hall to shut it down! Policies been stripped from us, and it’s time to take ‘em back. Come correct with the gear, the signs, and that fire in your soul. You ready to rally or what?

3. Female Figure Face – You been studying the Old School ballroom videos, now it’s time to pay homage to the FQ Face Divas of the ‘90s. You know the look, the mannerisms, the iconic poses—bring them back to life and serve!

4. Butch Realness – The Black Panthers and Young Lords ain’t playin’—they launching a 2025 chapter and they wanna see if you got what it takes. The elders need to see the look, the attitude, the power. Step into the battle and rep that realness!

5. Realness with a Twist Pt. 1 – We need strong, solid men to hold it down for the community. The rally’s at the State Building on 125th, and we need protectors. Can we count on you to stand up and fight?

6. Men in Pumps – You been chosen to sit with elected officials and speak truth to power about these executive orders. We rolling in suited up—but don’t get it twisted—heels are mandatory. Four inches minimum. Walk that talk!

7. The Old Way OTA – It’s ‘80s hip-hop, and we bringing it raw! Think Run-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa, Big Daddy Kane—the era of legends. Get your gear right and bring that old way flavor to the floor.

8. Runway OTA – American vs. European. If you reppin’ the U.S., rock that red, white, and blue. If you walking European, pick a country and serve that nation’s colors with style. Let’s see who really got the runway game on lock.

9. Realness w/a Twist Pt. 2 – You got your 10s walking realness, now it’s time to flip the script. Slide into a catsuit, arch that back, and purrrrrform—feline finesse, feminine fire, and all the right moves. The floor is waiting!!
