Family Fishing Event

You’re invited to Union Township’s annual catch & release Family Fishing Event on Saturday, May 17 at Clepper Park. This event is a great way to introduce family and friends to the sport of fishing as well as challenge yourself as an experienced fisher. Registration for the event begins at 9:00 a.m. near the Clepper Park pond, followed by catch and release fishing from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. At the conclusion of fishing, first, second and third place teams will be awarded in the following categories: Heaviest Fish, Most Fish Caught, and Smallest Fish. Please arrive early as space is limited around the pond.

Union Township staff and volunteers will be available throughout the event to weigh your fish, take a fish off your hook, adjust crossed lines, and assist as needed. Please bring your own fishing rod, lures, and bait to catch bluegill, bass and crappie. Nets and boats are prohibited. A fishing license is not required to fish at Union Township’s Clepper Park pond. Children age 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult during this event.

The Annual Family Catch & Release event will occur rain or shine.
