On September 13th Join us for our 1st Annual Herb Gould Veterans Park Picnic & Fundraiser! The Herb Gould Veterans Park, established a decade ago, has been a haven for families, friends, veterans, and home schoolers to enjoy the outdoors. The park has remarkable dog tag displays, a reflective garden, a flag retirement station and disposal box, a playground, an outdoor grill, a pavilion with multiple picnic tables, benches, and 20 memorial trees dedicated to Houston County veterans, each marked with a plaque.
On September 13th, the Herb Gould Veterans Park will host a Park Enhancement Fundraiser aimed at raising $15,000 for our park improvement projects. Two of our top priorities are installing a shade canopy over the playground and enhancing our dog tag displays. Over the next five years, we envision adding walking trails, a static display, and bathrooms.
We plan to kick off the events around 10:00 a.m. with an end time around 2:00 p.m.; we have invited the antique tractor club and a military display. We also plan to have hot dogs /hamburgers and drinks for a donation, a Tricky Tray auction, and craft booths will be set up inside of Tennessee Ridge City Hall. Craft tables are available for rent for $ 10.00. Finally, we plan to have special entertainment throughout the day! Make plans to come and join us for our veterans park picnic!
