What's up Jets family? WOW, what a weekend!
Friday’s Happy Hour at Gaspar’s was nothing short of legendary. We packed the place wall-to-wall for the biggest turnout we’ve ever had in the 21 year history of the club. Super Bowl III legend Earl Christy came out and lit up the room with stories and selfies, Fireman Ed had the chants rolling, and Jake Asman showed up with his Asmaniacs in full force. It was shoulder-to-shoulder Jets fans all night, the energy was electric, and one lucky fan went home $700 richer in our 50/50 raffle. People will be talking about that Happy Hour Party for a long time... easily one of the greatest nights we’ve ever had as a club.
Sunday’s tailgate was just as wild. Over 350 Jets fans turned the lot into a sea of green. Reverend Bill gave his blessing to the faithful, the DJ had everyone hyped, and the chants never let up. Jake and his crew were back with us, and another fan pocketed $505 in the 50/50 raffle. If you weren’t there, you missed one of the most epic tailgates we’ve ever thrown.
The game itself? No sugarcoating it... it was damn ugly. Tampa Bay was banged up, missing three offensive linemen and with Mike Evans in and out late, yet we still couldn’t stop them. Third-and-longs killed us all day not to mention all the penalties. We couldn't run the ball and we couldn't get a takeover or stop a nose bleed. If not for Will McDonald’s blocked kick and scoop-and-score, the final score wouldn’t have been nearly as close as 29-27. This was a horrible loss, plain and simple, and we’re sitting at 0-3 heading into Week 4. SMH
But now it’s on to Monday Night Football vs. the Dolphins. Prime time. Division rival. No excuses! JUST WIN!
Gaspar’s will be the place to be once again — let’s pack the house, get loud, and bring that same Happy Hour and tailgate energy into Monday night. Win or lose, the Jets family is unmatched.
