Why Does Mental Illness Seem More Difficult to Treat than Medical Illness?

​​Bio: Scott Weigold, MD is a psychiatrist with Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health (RUHS-BH), which is the Riverside County behavioral health department.  Although he began his career in Behavioral Health in 1987, he's been with RUHS-BH for 18 years now.  He's worked in ETS, multiple outpatient clinics, and currently works alongside the psychiatry residents, helping to train the next generation.  In 2018, he began the Mobile Psychiatric Service (MPS), an on-going "clinic without walls" for the highest utilizers of all the BH Crisis Services.  This is not the Crisis Team, but on-going treatment, just like a clinic building, but delivered wherever the highest utilizers happen to be.  MPS staff are proud to "take the treatment to the people."
