Reading and Auditions for the two one-act plays directed by Kay Britton, 'Superheroes' & 'A Funny Kind of Life', which will be entered into the Wellington Drama Festival in November.

SUPERHEROES:
Retirees Arthur and Gracie live a quiet suburban life. But after reports of “scammers” operating in the area their suspicions are aroused, especially when the gasman comes to call. It’s not long before their lives are changed forever, and even the recently demised Peanut can’t help them! This is a hilarious tale of memory-loss, misadventure and murder which will leave you wanting more.
Characters:
Arthur - elderly. Cranky, bad tempered, funny
Gracie - elderly. Absent minded, good natured
Marcia - Forties. Nosey neighbour
Vince - twenties/thirties - confident, outwardly pleasant .. but..!
A FUNNY KIND OF LIFE:
Teenager Nora lies in her hospital bed not knowing how things are going to turn out. Counting cars in the car park helps to cover up the real truth, but Nurse Angela understands what it’s all about. And Nora finds unusual help from within, as the enigmatic Harmony Sloane and hapless Pistol Pete come to Nora’s rescue, complete with wigs and cocktails! Enchanting and surprising, this is a poignant story of the many characters inside us. At the end of the day, it’s all about fear and hope.

Mr Farmer - Male - thirties to fifties. Efficient and understanding
Harmony Sloane -Male Drag Queen. Caring, fun, brash

Rehearsals will start in August and are likely to take place Saturdays, 7 PM, alternating weekly between each play.
There may be a second audition date scheduled for 17th July, if needed.
