This practical CPD session introduces primary teachers to the BBC micro:bit through a sustainability and climate lens. You’ll explore how the micro:bit can be used as a data-logging tool, making abstract concepts such as energy use, temperature, light and sound tangible for pupils.
The session will model classroom-ready activities including manual and automatic data logging, using sensors, interpreting real-world data, and linking outcomes to sustainability and EcoCode projects. There is a strong focus on pedagogy, classroom management, and how these activities map to the Teach Computing Curriculum and wider curriculum aims.
This session is available through Paul in partnership with Digit, supported by Digit funding, enabling schools to access high-quality, fully resourced training linked to coding for sustainability and climate education.
You will leave with practical ideas you can use immediately in your classroom or computing curriculum, along with access to free, high-quality supporting resources.
