Alien Contact Retreat

OVERVIEW: Join us for a 2-day Alien Contact retreat about 2 hours north of Los Angeles in the beautiful Tehachapi Mountains!

DATES: Saturday, June 7 & Sunday, June 8

TIMES: 11:00 AM on Saturday to 5:00 PM on Sunday

COST: $30 (Meals and accommodation are not provided.)

RETREAT LOCATION: Our daytime and evening activities will occur in a large, private residence in the beautiful Tehachapi Mountains of California! The exact retreat location will only be disclosed to attendees when they arrive at the meeting location.

MEETING LOCATION: We'll meet just outside the main entrance of Love's Travel Stop at 2000 E Tehachapi Blvd, Tehachapi, CA 93561.

MEETING DATE & TIME: Saturday, June 7, 11:00 AM.

All attendees must meet in the designated meeting location on Saturday at 11:00 AM. After that initial meeting and following orientation, attendees may come and go as they wish!

Please plan for the possibility of bad traffic and aim to arrive at the meeting location early. We'll leave the meeting location soon after 11:00 AM.

The group will drive in convoy to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Then we'll drive in convoy to our retreat location.

GAS: There are long stretches of road in the desert areas around Tehachapi with no gas stations at all. Therefore, please fill up with gas before you drive towards the retreat.

DIRECTIONS: Typically, retreat attendees fly in to LAX on the Friday, rent a vehicle from the airport, and then drive the 100 miles to Tehachapi. Google Maps sometimes takes people on crazy routes along long, windy, mountain roads. Therefore, if you’re traveling from LA, I recommend overriding Google Maps and following this basic route:

i) Take the 405 North from LA.

ii) Merge onto the 5 North.

iii) Take the 14 North through Lancaster.

iv) Stay on the 14 all of the way to Mojave.

v) Take the 58 West to Tehachapi.

ACCOMMODATION: The most comfortable option would be to get a hotel or motel in Tehachapi. The Best Western is probably a good option (at 420 W Tehachapi Blvd, Tehachapi, CA 93561).

Alternatively, if you bring a tent, you can camp for free on the retreat location's land. Or you could sleep in your vehicle for free at the retreat location. Or you can sleep for free on the floor of the retreat location if you bring your own camping mattress and sleeping bag!

MEALS: For convenience, we'll simply drive to local restaurants for our main meals. It's not a bad idea to bring some between-meal snacks with you too. Please don't bring any smelly foods with you, like fish or cheese; we don't want food smells to distract us while we're trying to meditate!

RETREAT LOCATION RULES:

- No drugs, alcohol, smoking, or vaping.

- No fire or flames indoors or outdoors.

- No outdoors shoes are permitted inside. (You may bring slippers or indoors shoes if you like.)

- No colored drinks are permitted on or over carpeted areas. Drinks sometimes spill, and colored drinks are really bad for the carpets!

- No loud sounds or music are permitted after 9:00 PM.

- No smelly foods.

WHAT TO BRING:

Please bring a few warm layers with you. We're going to do a couple of outdoors alien contact meditations, and it might be cold.

It’s not essential, but you’re welcome to bring a yoga mat, camping mat, cushions, or pillows to sit on or lie on when we meditate.
