Join jazz musicians Tim Horner (drummer) and Allan Bezama (guitarist, and Puffin crowd favorite!) as they celebrate the release of their newest joint album, "Moving Forward"! Joined by Steve Wilson on alto & soprano saxophone, Jim Ridl on piano, and Noriko Ueda on bass, the duo will be playing through the suite of their original compositions on the album. This record marks Tim’s third studio album as a leader and Allan’s first, born out of years of mentorship, fellowship, and shared performances. "Moving Forward" highlights both artists’ distinct voices while embracing a shared vision that pushes the genre ahead.
Tim Horner has worked with a wide range of artists across jazz history, including Hank Jones, Clifford Jordan, Pepper Adams, Joe Locke, Randy Brecker, Vic Juris, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, The Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, Frank Kimbrough, Roseanna Vitro, Ann Hampton Calloway, Mark Murphy, Joe Williams, Dick Oatts, Red Rodney, Mark Sherman, Ted Rosenthal, Bill Cunliffe, and Rufus Reid. He has served as Jazz Ambassador for the U.S. State Department five times, performing and teaching the genre in over 20 countries.
Allan Bezama is a jazz guitarist recognized as a rising star in the New York City jazz scene, as highlighted in an article on Jazzfuel.com. He has performed with luminaries such as Jeff “Tain” Watts, Mark Whitfield, Glen David Andrews, John Benitez, Steve LaSpina, Ari Roland, Paul Gill, and Stacy Dillard, and has played at notable venues such as Smalls Jazz Club, The Deer Head Inn, The Django, Minton’s Playhouse, Arthur’s Tavern, 55 Bar, Brvsh Cul7ur3, Club Groove, and Room 623.
