Join us at Taylor Reserve, Pāpāmoa Beach for another awesome Coast Care working bee alongside the Pāpāmoa Rotary Club and the Pāpāmoa Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Bring your friends and family and help us protect and restore our precious sand dunes. Led by your local Coast Care restoration coordinator Max, we'll be planting back dune plants.
Dune planting is easy and good fun with like-minded people, so come along and ‘dig’ in (if you’re bringing littles ones, please ensure you’re ready and able to help them).
📍 Where: Taylors Reserve, Pāpāmoa - meet at the Taylors Reserve carpark (look out for the Coast Care flags)
📅 Date: Saturday 13 September 2025
⏲️ Time: 9.45am to 12pm
🟦 What you need to bring:
* Gardening gloves (we will have some on hand, but you may prefer to bring your own)
* Sturdy, covered walking shoes/boots (no jandals or bare feet please)
* Sunhat, water and a raincoat (just in case).
☔ Please keep an eye on the weather forecasts. If MetService issues a red weather warning, this event will be cancelled.
This is part of a regular programme of planting events to help restore our precious sand dunes – the backbone of our beaches and the first line of defence against coastal storm surge.
Thank you to our programme partners: Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Tauranga City Council, Western Bay of Plenty District Council, Whakatāne District Council, Ōpōtiki District Council and Department of Conservation.
